Check out 11 of our favorite dessert recipes perfect to whip up during fruit season:

1. Skinny Peach Cobbler >

MO_logo_3-2.jpg

This cobbler is one of our favorite desserts to whip up during fruit season. One bite of this and you’ll swear you’re cheating. The soft, juicy peaches are sprinkled with nutmeg and brown sugar; the cinnamon-hinted homemade crust is baked to golden crisp; the cobbler combination—sinfully delicious. But get this: Each serving is only 135 calories. High on the yumminess scale, zero on the guilt.

2. Banana Nice Cream >

African-Mango-900_2.jpg

Four ingredients: That’s all you need to make this scrumptiously sweet, super creamy treat. Freeze ripe bananas, then toss them into a food processor (or high-powered blender) with unsweetened almond milk, vanilla extract and a pinch of salt. Blend until creamy, then get yourself a spoon. Or, if you prefer your ice cream a little firmer, put it into the freezer for about an hour. One batch makes two servings; each serving contains 110 calories. On your Nutrisystem meal plan, one serving counts as one SmartCarb.

The bottom half is a flaky golden crust made from butter, applesauce, lemon zest, flour and sugar. The top layer: More lemon zest, more butter, lemon juice, and other baking staples. Together, the combination offers the perfect blend of sweet and tart in every bite. These bars take a little work, but your sweet tooth will thank you for the effort.

4. Black Forest Milkshake >

MO_amat_04-3.jpg
You can most certainly have your shake and drink it, too—with this healthy version, anyway. It’s got chocolate, it’s got cherries, it’s sweet enough to rival ice-cream shop shakes, but it won’t completely derail your diet. And the secret ingredient: Spinach. That’s right—nutrient-rich, leafy greens give this decadent treat a boost of vitamins and minerals. To make it, just add spinach to a blender with frozen cherries, vanilla almond milk, and a protein-packed Chocolate Nutrisystem Shake. One serving contains 257 calories.

MO_packshot_01.jpg
It’s true that sometimes healthier banana bread can get a little dry, kind of like you’re biting into a piece of corrugated cardboard. But not this one. All you’ll taste is sweet bananas and cinnamon when you sink your teeth into a hearty slice. Unsweetened applesauce helps keep this bread soft and moist, and it’s made with gluten free flour for people who have wheat allergies, or other sensitivities. Each serving counts as one SmartCarb and one Extra on Nutrisystem.

6. Strawberry Ice Box Cake >

MO_amat_05-1.jpg

Strawberries are one of our favorite fruits to incorporate into recipes during fruit season. An homage to the classic, this icebox cake replaces the traditional chocolate wafers with tasty graham crackers. And instead of whipped cream between the layers, create a healthier filling with Greek yogurt, lemon zest, lemon juice, Stevia and vanilla extract. Slices of strawberries complete the cake, with each piece weighing in at just 152 calories.

8. 2-Ingredient Fresh Fruit Popsicles >

MO_amat_12-5.jpg

Zach Galifianakis Weight-loss 2022: The Comedian has Dropped 50 Extra pounds

Zach has kept us entertained with his mind-blowing movies such as Due Date, The Hangover Trilogy, and Masterminds. He has been making us laugh for a very long time. Although he is still that funny guy Zach has changed his appearance a lot.

At the Emmy’s, when Galifianakis appeared on the red carpet, everyone was shocked. It was not the old overweight Zach that everyone was looking at. Rather, he was very lighter than before. When asked about what did he do to his body, Zach answered “I’ve lost 50 Pounds”.

MO_amat_04-19.jpg

This statement left his fans confused. Some were worried about his health, others thought that it was one of Zach’s jokes. Let’s dive into the truth and find out what’s the story behind Zach’s 50 pounds.

How did Zach Lose Weight?

African-Mango-900_2-18.jpg

Considerable insight into Zach’s weight loss tells us that Galifianakis has been busy losing pounds since 2013. However, it seems he wasn’t focusing on the real problem. The main reason for Zach’s being fat was his drinking habits.

He is fond of alcohol. And that’s why his weight increased so much. However, the good news is that he has overcome this habit and has successfully lost 50 pounds. “I stopped drinking and I just, kind of, put the weight off,” Galifianakis told the interviewer. He continued, “I was having a lot of vodka with sausage. Delicious, but bad for you”.

Avoiding drinking can really help you in losing extra weight. Since alcohol makes you tired and also makes you sleepy it’s the main reason why drinker ends up consuming extra calories. Zach now keeps away from drinking excessive vodka. But, occasional parties are a thing of enjoyment.

Before leaving alcohol, Zach weighed around 240 pounds. However, after giving up alcohol for the good of his health and losing 50 pounds, he now weighs 190 Pounds.

Final Words

It’s a good thing that Zach is finally taking responsibility for his health. We want him to stay healthy for the sake of his health as well as for making other funny movies. I hope that he stays this way and keeps sharing happiness through his talent.

Alec Baldwin Weight Reduction 2022: Diet Plan, Workout, Before as well as After

Baldwin has acted in as well as produced multiple masterpieces of Hollywood. He is one of the four actor brothers in the Baldwin family. The breakthrough in Alec’s career came when he appeared on two seasons of CBS’s Knots Landing.

Even though Alec has conquered a lot in his acting career, there was something unaccomplished in his personal life. Baldwin had this feeling that he was overweight, he thought that his weight was increasing with the passing time.

It was true to some extent though. Alec, being busy with his work, never put much attention into maintaining his weight and with time it did increase. Since Baldwin had a very busy life, it was nearly impossible for him to find out the time to lose some pounds.

However, he somehow got time and transformed his appearance completely while losing 100 pounds. Isn’t it interesting and bizarre at the same time? Let’s dive into the details.

Alec Baldwin’s Weight Loss Journey

MO_amat_07-21.jpg

In the year 2012, Alec was having health issues. He was diagnosed as pre-diabetic. This set an alarm and brought the most important work to Alec’s attention that he was denying weight loss for so long. Baldwin, then set up on the journey to lose weight.

Pete Davidson Helped Alec in Losing 100 Pounds

MO_amat_08-23.jpg

Pete Davidson, the American comedian, and actor, helped Baldwin in losing weight though unintentionally. While performing a sketch, Pete said something to Alec that motivated him and led him to lose 100 pounds. And the interesting thing is that it wasn’t even true.

“I was on set and Alec was hosting and it was a sketch where I had to be shirtless,” Davidson revealed in The Tonight Show. He continued, “He (Alec) came up to me and he was like, ‘what do you do?’ And I didn’t want to be rude and said, ‘Oh man, I do 100 pushups and 100 sit-ups every day”.

And that really got Baldwin. From that day whenever he met Pete, he would exclaim “100 a Day!”. After this, Baldwin started working on his weight and joined a gym where he would do intense workouts for an hour on a daily basis.

MO_amat_01-20.jpg

He also improved his diet. Alec cut down all sugar consumption. He gave up eating processed food as well. That brought a sudden change in Baldwin’s appearance. He became slimmer and the risk of diabetes became almost zero.

Before & After Weight Loss

MO_logo_3-19.jpg

As you can see the difference, Baldwin has come from 298 lbs to 198 lbs by losing 100 lbs along the way.

Find out the inspiring story behind Chris Christie‘s weight loss up to 85 pounds.

Final Words

Alec Baldwin’s case shows how strong human will and imagination really are. Just by hearing Pete saying that he does 100 pushups a day, Alec set on the journey to lose weight and in the end succeeded. So, never underestimate the power of your imagination and will. You can achieve everything, just stay strong in your belief.

10 Tips for a Healthy And Balanced House Picnic

Enjoy a healthy cookout in the comfort of your own home! Memorial Day is here and warm weather has arrived. Head to the backyard and whip up some nutritious and delicious food that fits into your Nutrisystem plan.

With the right recipes and meal ideas, you can stay on track with your weight loss goals this holiday. We put together these 10 tips for making your at-home cookout a healthy occasion.

Here are 10 easy tips for a healthy backyard barbecue:

1. Don’t starve yourself before the cookout.

African-Mango-900_1-18.jpg

We’ve all done it—skipping meals before a big event to “save up” calories for the party spread. But when you’re trying to lose weight, this can backfire. You can get so hungry that you wind up eating even more than your planned “splurge.”

Keep yourself from going so far overboard—and from showing up hangry—by keeping your blood sugar stable. Eat your prescribed Nutrisystem foods and snacks before the party and save any SmartCarbs or PowerFuels to go with your cookout meal. The fiber, protein and healthy fats in your normal meals will keep you from being too hungry, so you can measure portions of your cookout favorites and stay on track.

2. Start by filling half of your plate with veggies.

MO_packshot_06-30.jpg

Less than 10 percent of Americans get their recommended daily servings of vegetables, says the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). They explain that eating two to three cups per day can reduce your risk for heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and yes, obesity.

By eating an abundance of vegetables, you’re getting a lot of water with your food. Eating water-rich foods means that you can have more volume for less calories. This can ultimately help you lose weight. According to Science Daily, Penn State research discovered that “women who added water-rich foods to their diets lost more weight during the first six months of the study than those who only reduced fat in their diets.”

So, start with the veggies and use the grill to make them even more delicious! Get some Leaf-approved tips for grilling tomatoes, mushrooms and greens for even more flavor by clicking here! >

3. Find tasty, low-calorie side dish recipes on the Leaf.

MO_logo_4-18.png

A “healthy” cookout doesn’t mean the food is boring—it should be just the opposite! The Leaf Weight Loss Blog is your source for keeping things deliciously diet-friendly. Spice up your coleslaw game with sweet options like this Broccoli Slaw with Cranberries and Lime or a fiery, crunchy bowl of this Spicy Peanut Slaw. Or go cucumber crazy: Whip up some of this five-star rated Cucumber Dill Dip or a bowl of this Zesty Cucumber and Dill Salad.

4. Tackle your cravings head-on.

MO_amat_07-15.jpg

Now that your plate features some veggies, get down to business. Identify the cookout food you’re craving most and dish out a healthy, measured portion. That’s advice straight from our Nutrisystem registered dietitians: If you’re really craving a food, you should eat it. Denying yourself a small piece of a favorite pie or a slice of cheese on your burger won’t make the craving go away—it will more than likely lead you to graze on other fare, unsatisfied. It’s better to have a portion you can measure and enjoy, so you can calm your cravings and stay on track.

5. Keep the calories on your plate, not in your glass.

MO_packshot_05-17.jpg

Sugary beverages are thought to be a big part of the obesity epidemic in America: From 1977 to the year 2001, Americans increased their daily consumption of sweetened beverages from 50 to 144 calories per day, says The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. Over the course of a year, that could add up to over 50,000 extra calories!

Keep your calories down and the flavor up with something summery and fun that features fruit: Try one of these refreshing summer mocktails! > If you’re a beer drinker, choose one that satisfies for fewer calories—like one of these 10 low-calorie beers that actually taste good. >

6. No grill? No problem! Pan sear your meat for a crisp crust worthy of the grill.

MO_packshot_05-17.jpg

If your go-to grill move typically involves heading to a local park, you may not have a grill in your backyard. However, you can get the same flavors you love inside by pan searing your meat to perfection.

Brush a cast iron skillet with oil and turn the burner on high. Make sure to turn on the exhaust fan so your smoke alarm doesn’t go off! Brush a small amount of olive oil on each side of the steak and season liberally with salt and pepper. Once the pan is hot, cook the steak for 90 seconds to two minutes on each side. Then transfer the steak—in the pan—to the oven to bake at 325 degrees for five to seven minutes until medium-rare.

7. Marinate meat to fight cancer.

MO_amat_12-18.jpg

When you grill meat, compounds called heterocyclic amines (HCAs) are created, according to Natural Medicine Journal. HCAs are considered carcinogens and are said to increase the risk of cancer. However, marinating your meat in herb-infused mixtures, especially ones including rosemary, can decrease the formation of HCAs on your grill by up to 70 percent.

Try this simple, rosemary marinade for beef: Mix a half-cup of red wine vinegar, two tablespoons olive oil, a quarter-cup of chopped rosemary, two crushed garlic cloves and salt and pepper to taste. Marinate the meat for at least an hour, then drain and cook.

8. Grill some fruit for a sweet, surprising dessert.

African-Mango-900_2-17.jpg

Grilled watermelon, pineapple, peaches and plums are bursting with flavor: The grilling caramelizes their natural sugar, so the foods taste even sweeter. These delicious and refreshing fruits are packed with fiber and immunity-boosting vitamins. Plus, they are much lower in calories than the sad, melting fare you’ll usually find at a cookout’s dessert table.

Get grilling tips for a variety of different fruits right here on The Leaf! Check out this guide for 10 fruits that taste even better grilled. >

9. Don’t focus just on the food!

MO_packshot_01-15.jpg

Sure, it’s a “cookout” and burgers and dogs are delicious. However, it’s not the reason everyone’s together. We’re finally able to get together. So, have a plate and make sure it satisfies. Sit down, take your time and concentrate on the flavors and textures of these delicious cookout foods. In a recent study, published in the International Journal of Obesity, researchers looked at the eating habits of 60,000 people. They found that eating slowly can decrease the risk of obesity.

When you’re finished eating your healthy barbecue meal, put your focus on those around you. We’ve all been apart so long that this could be easier than ever. But make a point of remembering: This event is about food, yes, but it’s really about being together. So be present and be together!

10. Have a plan for the food and the leftovers.

MO_amat_12-18.jpg

If you cook up a smorgasbord, have a plan in place for the aftermath. Before guests arrive, figure out how many portions of each type of dish you can plan to add to your eating schedule in the following days. If there’s a favorite dessert, salad or entrĂ©e you’re making, think about when it can fit into your plan. Keep the correct number of pre-measured portions for yourself and your family when guests leave. Then have containers ready for others to take the rest of the leftovers home with them. You’ll have pre-measured treats that fit your lifestyle, and less temptation to pull you off your plan in the days following the cookout.
