Vince Wilfork Fat Burning 2022: Diet Plan, Exercise, Before and After

Vince Wilfork is one of the few football players who are always remembered whenever football is mentioned. Vince played nose tackle in 13 seasons of the National Football League. He retired after the 2016 season, leaving behind a great legacy. Vince is the second player to win both Super Bowls XXXIX and XLIX.

Throughout his career, Wilfork was known as a “big dude” because of his huge appearance. Vince explained the experience as follows, “Everybody always questions me because I got a big belly. I tell them all the time that I’m always gonna have a belly. I’m always gonna have a belly. That’s my trademark. I’m gonna have a belly.”

While being a player, it was the need of the hour but after retirement, Wilfork’s “big belly” became a burden for him. Given the history of tragedy in his family, Vince’s wife was worried about his health.

Find out how the basketball coach, Brad Underwood, lost 34 pounds.

Vince’s Decision to Lose Weight

MO_logo_4-12.png

When Wilfork was in his twenties, he lost his father to diabetes. And then his mother to high blood pressure. This had a devastating effect on his early years. Wilfork’s weight had risen to 325 pounds and there was every reason for his wife to be worried about.

“I calculated how many years it would take for our kids to be the same age Vince was when his parents died,” Vince’s wife, Bianca, said. She continued, “I told him, ‘When our kids are 21, be sure to tell them goodbye because if you follow in the footsteps of your parents, that’s how old they’ll be when you die”.

She further said, “I don’t want my kids to go through what I saw him go through when his parents died. If you only want to have another 20 good years on Earth, keep going the way you’re going. I think that shook him up.”

And that shook him up. Soon after having this bitter but honest conversation with his wife, Vince decided to get rid of unhealthy and extra weight which was kind of a time bomb. Well, the next question in your mind must be, how. Let’s answer that.

How did Vince Lose Weight?

MO_packshot_06-3.jpg

When Wilfork was thinking about embarking on his weight loss journey, this is what he said, “I’ve got two kids and a wife. When I’m done playing football, I don’t want to suffer from an illness and die. Everything hit home this year for some reason. I decided, why to wait when I can start taking care of this stuff now?”

He made up his mind for a long-term solution and strived for it. First of all, Vince needed a plan to fight off increasing obesity. His wife helped in preparing one. After making the plan, there was the hardest part of all, how to implement it. Again his wife helped him in doing so.

Wilfork prepared a full weight loss plan which included diet as well as a workout plan. Following are details in regard to his weight loss plan:

Wilfork’s Diet Plan

Vince said that he had never been a “Mcdonald’s guy” but he couldn’t say no either. Fast food such as pizza, burgers was his weakness. Wilfork was also in love with rice and fried chicken. A very good combination to become obese. He had to leave his old habits and eating patterns behind.

Vince had to bring a big change in his life. A change that would shake him to his core. Where before, he had two big meals a day, he now divided it into six small chunks. “I’m breaking it down to six meals a day. I snack on something every two or three hours and my body breaks it down more efficiently”, Wilfork described his weight loss journey.

His diet now consists of fruits, vegetables, nuts, baked chicken, and fish along with the salad. As much as Wilfork has disciplined his eating habits, he has also done a hell of a job with his drinking habits. Vince now touches beer occasionally.

Instead of alcohol, he now enjoys his evenings with the sip of fresh fruits and vegetable juice. Adding all these new changes in his life helped Vince in getting over obesity and start a new healthy and happy life.

Vince’s Workout Plan

As hard as he worked on his diet, Wilfork worked with the same commitment on his exercise routine as well. He would start his day by going for a long walk of hours on daily basis. Besides that, he would lift weights and would do a hell of a cardio workout in the gym.

This workout routine was necessary for Vince given he was a retired athlete who needed to keep moving. So maintaining his diet plan and doing a lot of sweating in the gym helped Wilfork in getting over his increasing weight.

Before & After Weight Loss

MO_amat_07-8.jpg

More than losing weight, Vince did shifting weight. Where he had weight before, which was mostly consisted of fat on his stomach, he now has it on his legs and arms where it was needed. That’s why you will find a new Vince leaner even though he hasn’t really lost that much weight.

The Nuggets NBA star, Nikola Jokic, utilized the time he got during quarantine in a very great way and got rid of extra 25 pounds.

Final Words

With his hard work and determination, Wilfork has set a great example for everyone who is looking forward to living a healthy life. While Vince’s effort is remarkable, we must not forget the part his wife played as well. After all, this is what family is for.

WHAT I CONSUME IN A DAY FOLLOWING SLENDERING WORLD

The way I get most of my ideas and motivation to stick with the Slimming World plan is seeing what others are eating. I have put together a quick and easy guide to what I eat in a day in the hope that I inspire others.

AcaiBerry_packshot_8-5.jpg

I am not perfect when it comes to following Slimming World… I have fallen off the waggon a number of times, tried other diet plans, put weight back on etc… But I do support Slimming World and I do always go back to it. I have lost and maintained 4 and a half stone and I know the plan inside out. Motivation comes from seeing others weight loss and what others are are eating. I for one can kill lot’s of the day flicking through Instagram looking at what everyone else is eating.

I have put together a day in the life of me… So, what did I eat in one day following Slimming World and still lost weight?

Remember this guide is 100% unofficial, all Syns must be checked using the Slimming World App or with your consultant.

My tips and info for a day on Slimming World

  • I don’t eat a lot of fruit.. I usually allow myself 1 banana per day and maybe 1 or 2 other pieces of fruit. I see some people literally munching fruit for every meal.. this is all well and good and fruit is low in calories but it is loaded full of sugar.
  • I always eat my Healthy Extras but I do struggle… I am not a big lover of milk but I do enjoy my cheese!
  • I never go above my Syn allowance.. apparently I am allowed 20 but I never go above 15.. But I don’t deprive myself! My whole day is about my evening snack plate!
  • I don’t eat after 7pm
  • I don’t drink a lot, water, squash and fizzy drinks (sugar free)

Kiss Me, I'm Healthy and balanced! 15 St. Patrick's Day Recipes You Do Not Need To Be Irish to Love

Nothing says St. Patrick’s Day like a table full of festive Irish-themed treats. And luckily, you can still indulge in all of the staple sweets and snacks inherent to this Irish holiday without worrying about falling off the weight loss wagon.

Check out these 15 delicious Irish-themed recipes and celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in slim-down style:

1. Pot of Gold St. Patrick’s Day Shake >

MO_logo_4-9.png

Every St. Patrick’s Day, it begins: The commercials and advertisements for the season’s quintessential minty shake start flooding your TV, radio and social media channels. You know the shake we’re talking about: It’s got fat-packed vanilla soft serve blended with a super sugary syrup and topped with whipped topping. Tasty? Maybe. But it comes at a cost. A medium shake clocks in at 560 calories and a whopping 72 grams of sugar. Not exactly diet-friendly. Skip the fat trap, and opt instead for our deliciously creamy shake that’s got all the minty flavor of the Irish-themed treat without all the calories and sugar. It’s a delicious way to celebrate the season without compromising your weight loss goals.

2. Irish “Potato” Pancakes >

MO_amat_01-5.jpg
This healthier take on a traditional Irish treat is so unbelievably tasty, you’re going to want to make it all year-long. The pancake batter consists of clean, whole ingredients like cottage cheese, eggs, oats, vanilla extract, cinnamon and baking powder, and the drool-worthy cream cheese drizzle is a creamy combination of Neufchatel cheese, Greek yogurt, skim milk and stevia extract. And, as if these flavorful combinations aren’t enough to satisfy your pancake itch, you’ll top your Irish “Potato” Pancakes with sweet shredded coconut. Seriously… yum.

3. Pot O’ Gold Fruit Tray >

MO_amat_06-10.jpg
This festive, Irish-themed treat isn’t just completely adorable, it’s totally healthy, too! Featuring a colorful combo of strawberries, cantaloupe, pineapple, kiwi, blueberries and grapes, this flavorful favorite is made even sweeter thanks to the creamy fruit dip “cloud” comprised of Greek yogurt and light whipped topping. And, not to be forgotten, potassium-packed banana “coins” complete this beautiful fruit tray that makes a great dish to bring to parties and get-togethers this time of year (or any!).

4. Irish Soda Bread >
MO_amat_02-9.jpg

Thought carbs were a no-no when you’re trying to lose weight and eat healthy? Think again! Made with whole wheat flour, unsweetened vanilla almond milk and a few other easy ingredients you probably already have in your pantry, this soft and hearty Irish bread is so delicious, you’ll forget it’s also diet-friendly. Our favorite part? Biting into the soft and juicy raisins that pepper this carb-lovers’ favorite.

5. Irish Flag Fruit & Yogurt Parfait >

MO_amat_02-9.jpg

Pay homage to the Irish flag with this adorable little treat that’s packed with flavor thanks to sweet kiwis and mandarin oranges, plus plain Greek yogurt. This portable pick doesn’t just dish out a ton of tastiness and visual appeal, it’s also loaded with body-boosting nutrients like protein, fiber and vitamin C.

6. Skinny Irish Colcannon >
MO_amat_11-2.jpg

A staple Irish dish traditionally made by combining mashed potatoes and kale (or cabbage), with milk or cream, butter, salt and pepper, Colcannon isn’t exactly diet-friendly. But it’s so tasty and such a classic, that it wouldn’t be St. Patrick’s Day without it. So we concocted this skinny version, which replaces the potatoes with cauliflower (trust us, you won’t even notice!), and subs in fat-free milk for the full fat versions. It’s creamy, delicious and totally guilt-free!

7. Corned Beef & Cabbage Soup >
African-Mango-900_2-15.jpg

This classic dish screams Irish comfort food. But unlike more conventional versions, which tend to be loaded with fat and calories, this version goes a little lighter by loading up the veggies and including super lean beef. Warm, hearty and full of flavor, it’s no wonder this delicious Irish staple is a favorite at St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.

8. Irish Potatoes >
MO_amat_12-7.jpg

One bite of these tasty treats and you’ll wonder why Irish Potatoes are only reserved for St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. Made with creamy Neufchatel cheese, Greek yogurt, coconut oil, liquid Stevia, shredded coconut, vanilla extract and cinnamon, these guilt-free gems are bursting with the classic flavors you expect from Irish Potatoes, but spare you the sugar, fat and calories that come with conventional options. Word to the wise: Whip up a big batch―the family is definitely going to want in on the delicious action.

9. Shamrockin’ Tea Sandwiches >
MO_logo_4-9.png

Trust us: These Irish Tea Sandwiches are going to sham-rock your world! Loaded with healthy ingredients and jam-packed with fabulous flavor, these adorable treats will have your taste buds dancing (an Irish jig!). Whip up a batch to share with the family this St. Patrick’s Day, but be sure to set a few aside for yourself since these delightful sandwiches will fly off the plate.

10. Skinny Mint Chocolate Brownie Bites >
MO_amat_11-2.jpg

The classic combo of chocolate and mint comes together in this mouthwatering snack that dishes out all the texture and flavor you expect from your sweet treats, without the excess calories, fat and sugar. The recipe makes 24 melt-in-your-mouth servings, which means you’ll have enough to share, But we promise not to tell if you opt to hide these in the back of your fridge so you can have them all to yourself… they’re just that tasty!

11. Spinach Dip With Shamrock Tortilla Chips >

MO_amat_11-2.jpg

Enjoy  chips and dip on a healthy diet by making a few simple ingredient swaps that will leave this flex snack crispy, creamy and bursting with flavor. Spinach Dip With Shamrock Tortilla Chips gets a little help from spinach wraps to keep this snack as festive as possible! Your creativity can be tested in the kitchen (or you can just use a cookie cutter!) by shaping several shamrocks to create the tortilla chips. Bursts of flavor from garlic and dill give this creamy spinach dip the kick it needs. Enjoy this Nutrisystem-approved snack as you Irish dance your way to weight loss!

brussels-sprouts-vegetable-cream-soup-in-dark-bowl-2021-08-26-16-17-53-utc-699x1024.jpg
  1. This soup is like Christmas in a bowl.. other than the fact it’s actually February! I love sprouts, I am literally the only one who eats them whole in this house! Mr Fatgirlskinny literally hates them and the kids are not far behind! When I served this little beauty up I didn’t tell them what it was (they are kinda used to that).. But it worked, it got them to try and it and they all agreed it was delicious. I gave myself a high five by the way… because that’s just what I do! Honestly though, when you have 1 kiddo who asks for raw pepper, carrot etc from the fridge as a snack and another who will only snack on biscuits or chocolate you have to take your wins where you can!

Anyway enough waffling on, give this soup a try I promise you won’t be disappointed!
