The Reality Regarding Football Period Weight Gain (as well as Exactly How to Bounce Back!).

More than one-third (37%) of men would give up football games or other sporting events for two months if it meant they could sport a six-pack or a flat stomach, new research suggests.

In a new poll of 2,000 American men over the age of 30, 39% said their belly is the physical attribute they’d change about themselves.

And as football season comes to an end, men are feeling the effects. Thirty-seven percent said they usually gain weight from September to January, with 53% claiming they gain 10 pounds or more.

Football isn’t the only thing men would give up either. The poll, conducted by OnePoll and commissioned by Nutrisystem, also revealed that a quarter of men surveyed would give up their love life for two months for a flatter belly.

The poll also showed that almost one in five men began to lose confidence by the time they reached their early 30s.

More than 50% are less comfortable dating over 30 because they are less confident in how they look. And forty-seven percent of men admit they worry that their significant other doesn’t find them as attractive as they used to.

Men’s health and wellness seems top of mind more now than ever before as 43% of men believe that mental and physical health are equally as important as wealth and current lifestyle. If given the choice between getting a promotion at work or losing 20 pounds, 30% would choose to focus on their weight loss goals.

“Losing weight will not only lower total body fat but also stubborn belly fat,” said Courtney McCormick, MPH, RDN, LDN, Manager Clinical Research & Nutrition at Nutrisystem. “Excess fat around the abdomen responds well to a high protein, low GI diet, so be sure to pay attention to your portions, eat plenty of fruits and veggies and stick with whole grains and lean proteins.”

Even more interesting, a whopping 68% believe social media has created unrealistic body standards for men over the past decade.

But most men believe making a change could help. Half of men surveyed believe that losing weight would make them feel better about themselves. And 45% said they would need to lose 11 pounds or more to gain more confidence, which isn’t surprising since 46% of men said they gained 21 pounds or more over the last 10 years.

“Having a game plan is crucial,” said Hall of Fame quarterback and Nutrisystem ambassador, Dan Marino. “For guys especially, simplicity, variety and correct portion sizes are key. Programs like Nutrisystem that are delivered to your door and easy to follow are the best bet. And when you start seeing the results, it makes you motivated to keep going.”

When it comes to getting back on track, 53% of men said having an easy-to-follow plan for healthy eating would help them best achieve their health goals. Thirty-eight percent of respondents said teaming up with a partner and 35% said having healthy meals delivered to their door would fuel their success.

Health Coaching for Female Entrepreneurs (2021)

As a busy entrepreneur, you don’t have a lot of time.

And so losing weight or eating healthily feel like impossible goals.

Believe me, I know — I’m a full-time entrepreneur myself. And I’ve worked with plenty of extremely busy entrepreneurs.

But what most people don’t know is that to lose weight, you don’t need more time. You just need the right strategies that work despite your busy life.

AcaiBerry_amat_3.jpgI’m a busy entrepreneur myself, but with the right strategies, I keep fit despite my demanding schedule.

And that’s where a coach can help.

Want to learn more about health coaching for female entrepreneurs? Let’s dive right in.

How do you lose weight as an entrepreneur? You need the right strategies and foods. Get the free Sweet Spice Cheat Sheet with the sweet spice that helps you increase metabolism and stop your sugar cravings (bonus: a fat-burning recipe).

How to get your dream body

How would it feel to put on a fitted dress without anything pouting out? Or if you could confidently wear a bikini without feeling like you need to hide?

And perform at your best every day, without feeling tired and sluggish…

That would mean so much to you, your life, and your business, right?

The only problem:

You have an extremely busy schedule. It feels like you never have time to put yourself and your health first.

At the same time, you can’t afford to walk around feeling hungry because of some diet. Or spend hours at the gym.

That’s why you need a system that works with your lifestyle and that’s simple and easy to follow.

How I built a business and lost 40 pounds

When I started this business, MasalaBody, I was still in my 9-5.

Just a few years before, I had given birth to my two children.

Up until then, I had always struggled with my weight. I tried every diet under the sun, but I always ended up gaining more weight than I lost. Not to mention that I was constantly tired and my energy was low.

After my daughter was born, I realized something had to change. I couldn’t keep up with a corporate job and being the best parent I could be for my children if I was constantly stuck thinking about diets and depriving myself.

So I started researching weight-loss strategies and foods. And as it turns out, during all those years I was yo-yo dieting, I had done it all wrong!

I started eating more than I had before. And I stopped feeling guilty about having a glass of wine or a piece of chocolate cake — instead, I enjoyed myself.

But despite always feeling full and satisfied, I started losing weight. And in nine months, I had lost 40 pounds.

AC_prod_tran_2-6.pngMe, before and after.

The best part? To this day, I’ve kept that weight off.

What’s more, I noticed that I had so much more energy. That led me to start MasalaBody — and here we are today.

While I was running my business, raising my children, working my corporate job as a management consultant, and enjoying my life, my weight stayed off.

How my clients have lost 20-60+ pounds with a few, simple strategies

Through MasalaBody, I’ve been able to help hundreds of women lose 20-60+ lbs. Many of them are entrepreneurs and what they love about my systems is that they don’t have to compromise and give up their lifestyle.

They can continue treating themselves to delicious foods and having a glass of wine now and again while seeing their weight melt off.

And thanks to the energy they get by eating the right foods, they’ve been able to start businesses, PhDs, hobbies, and other side projects.

Take one of my clients, Luisa.

Luisa is a multiple 7-figure entrepreneur. Both she and her husband are extremely busy and Luisa didn’t want to spend the time she had with him on things like cooking.

They found themselves in a place where they were ordering takeout all the time and felt unhealthy. Luisa wanted to find a better alternative, but she didn’t want to spend hours figuring out what to eat. She also didn’t want to deprive herself — she wanted to have it all, both the slim body and delicious food.

After working with me, she completely changed her relationship with food and even overcame her life-long sugar cravings. Now she knows what to eat on business trips and regular days without having to spend hours in the kitchen.

Learn more about Luisa’s story here:

How health coaching can help you perform better AND lose weight

How does food affect your performance and productivity?

What you eat has a HUGE impact on how you feel.

As you know, you fuel your brain with energy when you eat. That’s why what you eat has such a big impact on your brain.

For example, consuming omega-3 fatty acids (found in fish) improves your brain functioning. But foods that include saturated fats can negatively affect your cognitive skills and memory. Foods also affect your mood.

And what I’ve found is that weight loss is 80% of the food you eat. One Stanford study shows that overweight adults didn’t lose weight by following a diet; instead, they lost it by doubling down on a few core things like cutting down on sugar and eating more vegetables.

Plus, foods and spices like cinnamon, salmon, and chili have been shown to have weight loss and other health benefits.

With the right foods, you boost your brain and body. You can literally sit and work or watch Netflix with your spouse while your body melts off fat.

For even better results, add strength training a few times a week. Strength training has been shown to boost brain performance and also boost your metabolism (making it easier and faster to lose weight).

The best part?

With the right coaching plan, you don’t have to waste time or energy on losing weight.

How do you lose weight as an entrepreneur? You need the right strategies and foods. Get the free Sweet Spice Cheat Sheet with the sweet spice that helps you increase metabolism and stop your sugar cravings (bonus: a fat-burning recipe).

Health coaching for female entrepreneurs

By switching to better nutrition and strength training two times a week for 30 minutes/session, your metabolism starts working for you and your weight starts to come off.

If you want to, you can add on more exercise to get even more energy.

So it’s really about using a strategy that works with your existing lifestyle.

That’s what my program Slim Down Transformation does. It’s a year-long coaching program, which focuses on health coaching for female entrepreneurs and other busy women.

And it’s tailored for professional women like yourself. We work with women in their 40s, 50s, and 60s who want to lose 20-60 pounds, including vegans and vegetarians.

The thing is:

Even if you follow all the tips out there, you will hit weight-loss plateaus. In Slim Down Transformation, we help you move past those (thanks to all the data we have from hundreds of women who have lost weight with us).

What’s more, research shows that support and accountability are essential if you want to lose weight. In Slim Down Transformation, you get a personal accountability coach who keeps you accountable and motivated throughout the program.

You also become a part of a community that boosts you in your weight loss journey.

And because the program is 12 months long, you create habits that stick so that you keep your weight off for good. Plenty of our clients go on to lose even more weight after the program.

For example, Branda, a busy CEO of a wealth management company that she founded and mother of three, had spent SO much money on other programs. Ever since she started her business, she had noticed how her weight started to increase.

She didn’t want to think about food, but instead, wanted a clear-cut plan that would help her choose the right foods fast and efficiently.

By just following my plan, she lost her first 9 pounds in 8 weeks. It was the first time she was at that weight in 5-6 years!  Learn more about Branda’s amazing transformation here:

Over to you!

There you have it. Now you know what it takes to lose weight as a busy entrepreneur.

And thanks to health coaching for female entrepreneurs, you can lose that weight faster and keep it off. Accountability, support, and the right plan are crucial for losing weight in the long-term.

Now, I’d love to hear from you:

2 Minute Workout with Optifast weight loss programs

AcaiBerry_packshot_6-1.jpgIncreasing your activity level during your weight loss Programs can help you with your weight loss efforts. Maintaining an active lifestyle as you reach the end of your OPTIFAST weight loss program and transition back to a traditional diet may help you maintain a healthier weight level.

The American Heart Association promotes the idea that every adult should engage in 30 minutes of physical activity daily. They particularly encourage low-impact cardiovascular activities like walking. Being physically active is associated with a collection of health benefits, including:

    • Reduced risk of heart disease

    • Improved blood circulation

    • Improved mental health

Physical activity is classified as any form of movement or exercise. An exercise that causes you to engage your muscles and ultimately burn calories. While 30 minutes is a great number to aim for daily. There is no rule that says you have to exercise for 30 consecutive minutes. For many people, fitting in a 30-minute workout every day is challenging from both a physical and time-management perspective.

Weight Loss Programs

If you can make it to the gym for 30 minutes every day, then keep it up! If for some reason that doesn’t work out, then you’ll want to find other ways to reach your 30-minute activity goal.

Every step adds up in weight loss programs. Engaging in short two-minute activities can help you in weight loss programs. Here are a few activities that you can try at home, at work or on-the-go:

  • Deliver messages on foot: When possible, skip sending IMs or short emails at the office and stand up and walk to the next department instead.
  • Find a water fountain: Keep a glass of water on your desk and when you need a refill, walk to the water fountain on the next floor.
  • Park in the back: Save time, frustration and even some gas money by parking the car in the back of the lot and taking the opportunity to walk a bit more.
  • Skip the elevator: If there are too many flights of stairs up to your office, get off the elevator a floor early.
  • Take walking breaks: When you need a moment away from the computer screen, take a step outside and stretch your legs.

Consider how these simple two-minute activity ideas can apply to your own workspace or home-life. To build your activity level even more, consider wearing a pedometer and challenge yourself to take more steps every day.

4 Things That Help You Keep The Weight Off

4 Things That Help You Keep The Weight Off

Trying to lose weight can be a very difficult task for many people. There are often times where you doubt that you can even do it. No matter how hard you try the pounds just won’t come off. Losing weight is all about making the right decisions and committing yourself to the pursuit of a healthier lifestyle. Luckily, if you are struggling to lose weight, the weight-loss experts at Wellness Weight Loss Center have the experience to help you achieve your goals. Staying Active

Even if you live a  sedentary lifestyle, you should make an effort to get up and stay active every day. If you work at a desk or at home, get up and take a 10-minute break to walk around and stretch your legs. Calm your mind each day with a nice walk down your street or on a nearby nature trail. You can even enroll in a gym or exercise program to keep you active. Whatever you do, just make sure you commit to being active for at least 30-minutes once a day. Regardless of what you do, it will help you lose the weight you want.

AcaiBerry_amat_1.jpg

Eating Healthy

Eating healthier doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to put yourself on a strict diet and only eat certain foods. It just means you need to eat more of the good and less of the bad. Eat more fruits and vegetables and less bread and red meats. Instead of going out to a restaurant or getting fast food, look up a healthy recipe to make at home. By eating healthier, you are consuming fewer calories, and by consuming fewer calories you will burn more fat and lose weight.

AC_600x800_2-4.jpg

Making Healthy Choices

There are a variety of choices you can make that are healthy and beneficial to your weight-loss journey. It is all about making smart decisions every day so you can achieve your goal. If you like to watch tv after work, watch tv while running on the treadmill rather than lounging on the couch. If you’re craving chicken at a restaurant, order a nice chicken caesar salad instead of chicken parmesan. Whether you’re out on the town or at the grocery store, making healthier choices is key to getting where you want with your weight goals.

AcaiBerry_amat_1.jpg

Make Health A Habit

Building good habits can be challenging, but well worth the effort to help you achieve your goals. To build a good habit you need to commit to it every day until it becomes habitual. Creating a plan that clearly outlines your activities and diet each day will help these habits become easier to form. Eating right and exercising may be difficult at first, but if you do them every day, they will eventually become second nature and the weight will come off with it.

With these four steps, you can make sure that you commit to your weight loss goals and watch the weight fall off. By simply making better decisions about your exercise and eating habits, you can feel better and healthier. It is still a long journey to get from point A to point B, so if you are struggling, the team at Wellness Weight Loss Center can help you formulate a custom plan that helps reinforce these habits to guide you in the right direction. No matter what your weight loss goals are, our team can help you make a commitment to a healthier you. Contact us today to start a customized plan that can help you lose weight and keep it off!

How to Weight Lose without Sacrifice??

AC_600x800_2-1.jpgHow long do you spend driving to and from work every day—thirty minutes to an hour or more? Your long commute could be detrimental for your efforts towards medical weight loss in New Jersey. New research from Brown University found that for every hour spent each day commuting, the average person has 16.1 percent less time for exercise, 30.6 percent less time for sleep, 5.8 percent less time to eat as a family and 4.1 percent less time to prepare food. Sacrificing time for healthy behaviors like the ones above could put your waistline at a disadvantage.

The bottom line is that the longer you spend driving to and from the office, the less likely you may be to exercise, making you prone to weight gain. Long commutes can even impact your blood pressure and cardiorespiratory fitness levels.

The Research

This study published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine was based on data from approximately 4,300 adults in Texas whose jobs required a commute of some kind. Researchers found that participants with the longest commutes had a higher body-mass index, higher blood pressure levels and a reduced likelihood to exercise when compared to participants with short commutes.

Specifically, researchers concluded that commutes of 10 miles or more were linked to increased blood pressure levels, while commutes of more than 15 miles were linked to increased odds of obesity. What’s more, these health trends didn’t just disappear after researchers factored in time spent exercising, leading them to believe there is something about the commute itself that harms cardiovascular health.

You can’t just quit your job—so what can long commuters do to improve their health?

Though losing rapid weight loss is important during your medical weight loss program, quitting your job may not be a reasonable solution. Instead, long commuters should find creative ways to build physical fitness into their daily lives despite their short or long commutes.

Ultimately, your weight loss results are up to you, so take matters into your own hands if you’re dealing with a long commute. Here are some ways to build fitness into your day:

  • Find any excuse to walk more—even at work. Instead of emailing a quick question to a coworker who sits across your office, stand up and physically walk to their desk to get your answer. If you have to travel on the elevator to get to your office, try taking the stairs instead for a couple days each week.
  • Talk with your boss about physical activity breaks. See if you can implement a walking meeting policy that will get you and your co-workers up and moving instead of sitting around a table during discussions.
  • If possible, drive a certain distance to your work and then park your car close by your office. This way you can walk the rest of the way to your building and get in at least 10 minutes of exercise in the morning and when you leave the office in the afternoon.

Even after a long exhausting day at work, don’t let exercise intimidate you. Whether you work out for thirty minutes straight or break that into three 10-minute sessions, every little bit helps.

4 Simple Diet Switches That Can Help You Lose Weight

AC_600x800_2-3.jpg

Losing weight is possible! Many people think that losing weight isn’t going to happen for them, but the specialists at Wellness Weight Loss Center in Columbia have found a simple starting point for you to lose weight. In this article, we discuss four diet switches that can help you lose the weight and keep it off! Get in touch with us today to discover how we may help you.

Choose Water Over Soda

A simple way to cut a large amount of sugar out of your diet is to drink water over soda. Most sodas have over 30 grams of sugar, and that’s not including any additional sugars you may add to your drink. Switching to water can help you cut out a ton of empty calories from your diet right off the bat, while staying hydrated!

Buy Fresh Food Instead of Processed Food

Buying fresh produce and meats over processed foods is a great way to improve your nutrition and lose weight. Processed foods are typically loaded with unhealthy fats, sugars, and sodium. Not only that, but they also tend to be more expensive than buying fresh, unprocessed foods! By switching to only purchasing fresh food you can save money and improve your diet.

Snack on Fruit, Not Sugary Treats

Snacking can be a bad habit, especially if you’re reaching for junk food and sugary treats. Try snacking on fruit, such as apples, oranges, and grapes! Fruit is nature’s candy since they provide natural sugars that can help to give you an energy boost. Not only that, but fruit also contains a variety of vitamins and minerals that are essential for good health. This is also an excellent way to satisfy your sweet tooth without going overboard on calories and sugar intake!

Make Home-Cooked Meals Rather Than Going to the Drive-Thru

Another great way to cut down on unhealthy foods is to start preparing all of your meals at home. When you’re cooking your own food, you have complete control over the ingredients that are going into your meal. This means that you can avoid adding unhealthy fats and sugars to your food, and it also helps to save money on going out!

If you are looking for a sign to start losing weight, then this is your sign! Try making some of these simple diet switches as a great starting point. Wellness Weight Loss Center in Columbia, Maryland, can help you every step of the way, so contact us today! Our specialists know how to improve your nutrition for weight loss, and we would be more than happy to discuss our personalized nutrition and weight loss programs with you. You may be surprised at how much we can help!
